Targeted Currencies
We mentioned that we're inventing a lot of the language to be able to address the dynamics of living human systems, well this is one of those times that we're straying from normal English usage to reclaim some words for our special purposes.
In common parlance, "currency" is used pretty interchangably with "money." However, we are drastically differentiating the two so we can borrow some of the terminology from the moneysphere to help us chart some new territory.
Since "currency" comes from the Latin"currere" meaning "to run" -- as in river currents and electrical currents, we are using the in the broader sense of flowing systems, not simply economic systems.
For our purposes, the currencies are formal symbol systems for shaping, enabling and measuring flows.
